1910 E105 Mello-Mint Cy Young

Starting Bid - $500.00 , Sold For - $2,643.75

Graded EX 5 by PSA. One of only seven graded at this level, with just two graded higher. Very attractive high-grade example of Hall of Fame pitcher Cy Young, one of the key Hall of Famers in the set, from this extremely rare candy issue. Because Mello-Mints are printed on such thin stock they are almost always found crinkled or creased. The card is bright and clean, both front and back, with deep, bright colors, perfect registration, and just the slightest hint of wear to each corner (predominately the upper right). The card is very well centered with an ever-so-slight diamond cut. The Mello-Mint advertisement on the back is boldly printed in green against a brilliant off-white background. Caramel cards in general, of course, are rarely found in high grade, and this is especially so with Mello-Mints. This is a magnificent high-grade example of Cy Young from one of prewar-card collecting's most condition-sensitive candy card issues. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $2,643.75
