1911 T205 Gold Border Ty Cobb

Starting Bid - $500.00 , Sold For - $1,645.00

Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. Ty Cobb card from the T205 Gold Border set, one of the most popular of all 1910-era tobacco issues. This is a very pleasing mid-grade example of one of card collecting's most classic cards, from what is perhaps card collecting's single most condition-sensitive issue. Cobb is not just the most valuable card in the set, it also one of the most well known and popular of all Ty Cobb cards. This example is bright and clean, both front and back, with bold colors. The corners are evenly rounded. No creases, a very clean surface, and a bold portrait. Piedmont advertising reverse. Technically in Vg-Ex condition, this card provides collectors the opportunity to acquire a very attractive and relatively affordable alternative to a far more expensive higher-grade example of one of vintage-card collecting's great classics. Disclosure per section 13 of REA's terms and conditions: This lot has been consigned from the personal collection of an executive of REA's internet software service provider. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $1,645.00
