1915 Zeenut Collection (14)

Starting Bid - $1,000.00 , Sold For - $5,875.00

Collection of fourteen rare 1915 Zeenut PCL cards, each with the original coupon attached to the bottom. This is an outstanding high-grade collection that an oldtime collector happened to acquire decades ago, and though he did not collect Zeenuts, he put them aside because he knew they were special. Early Zeenuts are scarce to begin with, but rarely survive with coupons intact. The coupons were intended to be cut off by youngsters and redeemed for prizes. This is a spectacular and amazing group of extremely early Zeenut candy cards with tabs intact. We have selected six cards to be graded and encapsulated by SGC: Arbogast (EX 60), Bromley (EX+ 70), Harper (VG/EX 50), Litschi (EX 60), Perritt (EX+ 70), and Zacher (EX+ 70). The balance of the collection is comprised of Boyd (tiny tear on the lower right edge, otherwise Vg), Carlisle (Vg/Vg-Ex), Dillon (paper loss on the reverse, otherwise Vg), Litschi (Vg-Ex/Ex), Ryan ( Salt Lake, Vg/Vg-Ex), Ryan ( L.A., Vg-Ex), Spencer (Vg-Ex), and Wolter (Pr-Fr). All of the cards have a much stronger appearance than suggested by their technically accurate assigned grades. This is a small but significant find of extremely desirable and rarely-seen cards with tabs from the 1915 Zeenut series. Total 14 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$3,000+. SOLD FOR $5,875.00
