1967 and 1968 Topps Frank Robinson, Killebrew, Brock GAI-Graded Collection (168 cards)
Starting Bid - $500.00 , Sold For - $1,527.50
Three all-time classic 1960s Hall of Fame cards are each represented in quantity in this extremely unusual high-grade investment lot: 1967 Topps #100 Frank Robinson, 1968 Topps #220 Harmon Killebrew, and 1968 Topps #520 Lou Brock. A total of 168 assorted examples of these three Hall of Fame cards are presented here. In the 1960s, on the playgrounds of America, each of these cards was one of the most desirable that a kid could possibly have, and a huge collection like this, comprised of just these three treasures, would have been unimaginable, and representative of untold riches. This is a very strong group in terms of condition. Each and every card has been graded and encapsulated by GAI. The grades range from Ex to Nr/Mt-Mt+, with the majority of the cards grading Near Mint or better. The collection is comprised of the following: 1) 1967 Topps #100 Frank Robinson (99 cards): Five are graded NM-MT 8, six are NM+ 7.5, twenty-two are NM 7, seventeen are EX-MT+ 6.5, twenty-eight are EX-MT 6, and twenty-one are graded EX 5. 2) 1968 Topps #220 Harmon Killebrew (31 cards): Eighteen cards are graded NM-MT 8, six are NM+ 7.5, five are NM 7, and two are EX-MT 6. 3) 1968 Topps #520 Lou Brock (38 cards): Two cards are graded NM-MT+ 8.5, seventeen are NM-MT 8, nine are NM+ 7.5, five are NM 7, two are EX-MT 6, and three are EX+ 5.5. This is a very crisp, clean high-grade collection of three 1960s Hall of Famer cards, most likely originating from 1960s Topps vending boxes, issued when each of these great stars was at the peak of his career. The equivalent SMR value for the entire collection is $3,851. Total 168 cards.
