1972 Topps PSA-Graded Complete Set: #7 PSA Set Registry

Starting Bid - $10,000.00 , Sold For - $23,500.00

This is a gorgeous ultra high-grade complete set of 1972 Topps baseball cards. All 787 cards have been graded and encapsulated by PSA. Included are 367 Mint 9s and 420 NM-MT 8s. This is without question one of the finest sets ever assembled of this classic early 1970s Topps issue. This set is listed on the "PSA Set Registry." It is the eighth-highest graded set out of 109 registered sets. The PSA weighted Grade Point Average is an incredible 8.50. This classic set features all the stars of the era, but in many cases more than once, as so many stars appear again in special in-action cards. The grades for the entire set can easily be accessed online on the PSA Set Registry under "Spring 2008 REA." The PSA grades are as follows: 367 MINT 9: including #37 Yastrzemski (HOF), 38 Yastrzemski IA (HOF), 49 Mays (HOF), 51 Killebrew (HOF), 79 Fisk RC (HOF), 80 Perez (HOF), 100 F. Robinson (HOF), 130 Gibson (HOF), 132 Morgan (HOF), 200 Brock (HOF), 270 Palmer (HOF), 280 McCovey (HOF), 299 Aaron (HOF), 309 Clemente (HOF), 310 Clemente IA (HOF), 313 Aparicio (HOF), 420 Carlton (HOF), 433 Bench (HOF), 435 Jackson (HOF), 441 Munson, 442 Munson IA, 445 Seaver (HOF), 446 Seaver IA (HOF), 447 Stargell (HOF), 550 B. Robinson (HOF), 559 Rose, 560 Rose IA, 595 Ryan (HOF), 600 Kaline (HOF), 699 Murcer, and 754 F. Robinson TR (HOF). 420 NM-MT 8: including #1, 50 Mays IA (HOF), 195 Cepeda, 241 Fingers (HOF), 300 Aaron IA (HOF), 330 Hunter (HOF), 434 Bench IA (HOF), 436 Jackson IA (HOF), 465 Hodges, 498 B. Robinson (HOF), 510 T. Williams (HOF), 686 Garvey, 695 Carew (HOF), 696 Carew IA (HOF), 751 Carlton TR (HOF), 752 Morgan TR (HOF), and 761 Oglive/Cey RC. This set has been assembled with great care over a period of many years, with a concern for all factors, but with a special consideration to centering. The primary emphasis on centering makes this set even more spectacular than suggested by its extraordinary high grade, and is evident throughout. (Also please note that, as is the case with all cards in this entire auction, none of these cards has been submitted for review for the recently introduced PSA half-grades. There is no question that a great number of these cards would be awarded higher half-grades if submitted for review.) This is simply an amazing high-grade complete set. One of the finest complete sets ever assembled of this classic Topps issue. The total SMR value for the individual cards is $31,172. Total 787 cards. Reserve $10,000. Estimate $20,000+. SOLD FOR $23,500.00
