Honus Wagner Single-Signed Baseball
Starting Bid - $200.00 , Sold For - $2,643.75
DeBeer “National League” baseball signed in black fountain pen (grading “7”) across the sweet spot by Honus Wagner. Wagner was one of the first five inductees to the Hall of Fame in 1936 and is still considered by many to be the greatest shortstop of all time. The ball displays a small number of minor nicks and abrasions, as well as a few small areas of light discoloration. The manufacturer’s stampings are light, but legible, and the ball is in Very Good to Excellent condition overall. This ball dates from Wagner’s coaching days with the Pirates (as do nearly all of the other single-signed Wagner balls in the hobby today) and represents a very attractive mid-grade example. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$800. SOLD FOR $2,643.75
