"Four Home Runs in One Game" Signature Collection with Lou Gehrig (12)

Starting Bid - $500.00 , Sold For - $3,525.00

In the history of Major League Baseball only fifteen players have ever hit four home runs in a single game. Offered here is a near-complete signature collection featuring the autographs of twelve of the fifteen players who have accomplished that amazing feat, on a variety of items ranging from cuts to baseball cards, highlighted by an exceptional signature example of Lou Gehrig. The three players whose signatures are not included here are Ed Delahanty (incredibly rare, few examples known), Gil Hodges, and Mike Schmidt. 1) Lou Gehrig. In black fountain pen (“9/10”) on a 3.75 x 2.5-inch linen-finish cardboard card (very high quality, far more substantial than a cut signature). Excellent. 2) Bobby Lowe. In black fountain pen (grading “9”) on a government postcard postmarked 4/7/48, neatly trimmed to dimensions of 3 x 5 inches. Vg-Ex. 3) Chuck Klein. In black fountain pen (“8/9”) on a 6 x 4.5-inch autograph album page. Vg-Ex. 4) Pat Seerey. In black ink on a 5 x 3-inch lined index card. Nr-Mt. 5) Joe Adcock. In blue ink (“10”) on a “Baseball Scoops” trading card. Ex. 6) Rocky Colavito. In black ink (“10”) on a 5 x 3-inch unlined index card. Vg. 7) Willie Mays. In blue ink (“10”) on a 1960 Topps trading card (#7). Gd-Vg. 8) Bob Horner. In blue ink (“10”) on a 1981 Fleer trading card (#244). Ex. 9) Mark Whiten. In blue ink (“10”) on a 1991 Topps trading card (#588). Ex-Mt. 10) Mike Cameron. In black marker (“10”) on a 5 x 3-inch unlined index card. Ex. 11) Shawn Green. In blue Sharpie (“10”) on a 1994 Upper Deck “Collector’s Choice” trading card (#9). Ex. 12) Carlos Delgado. In black Sharpie (“10”) on a 5 x 3-inch cut segment of a photograph (the player cannot be identified as it is only a cut section, but presumably the photo pictured Delgado). Total twelve signatures highlighted by very strong examples of Lou Gehrig, Chuck Klein, and Bobby Lowe. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $3,525.00
