Circa 1932 Multi-Signed Baseball with Ruth, Gehrig, and Foxx etc. (Incredible 18 Hall of Famers!)

Starting Bid - $1,000.00 , Sold For - $6,462.50

Official American League (Harridge) ball, dating from the 1932-1933 manufacturing period, signed in either blue or black fountain pen by an incredible thirty former American League stars including Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, and Jimmie Foxx. This is an amazing ball with far more Hall of Famer signatures than normally seen on an early 1930s ball. In fact, this ball has more Hall of Famers on it than any other we have ever seen from this era. The original owner of this ball was certainly very discriminating when it came to obtaining autographs. This ball reads like a “who’s who” of the top players from the early 1930s. Of the thirty players who signed this ball, eighteen were eventually elected to the Hall of Fame. Ruth’s signature (grading “7”) appears on the sweet spot, as do the signatures of Heinie Manush and Lefty Grove. The remaining signatures are those of Lou Gehrig (“6”), Walter Johnson (ball label), Earl Averill (ball label), Jimmie Foxx, Joe Cronin, Harry Heilmann, Mickey Cochrane, Joe Sewell, Lefty Gomez, Tony Lazzeri, Bill Dickey, Hank Greenberg, Charlie Gehringer, Bucky Harris, Al Simmons, Ben Chapman, Tommy Bridges, Vic Sorrell, Orel Hildebrand, “Schoolboy” Rowe, Earl Whitehill, “General” Crowder, Lew Fonseca, Jo Jo White, Sammy Byrd, Gee Walker, and Wes Ferrell. Signatures range in grade from “6” to “9,” averaging “7/8.” All of the manufacturer’s stampings are bold and legible. The ball is darkly toned and has been coated with a light layer of protective shellac. Excellent condition overall. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$4,000+. SOLD FOR $6,462.50
