1934/35 American League All-Star Team-Signed Ball with Ruth, Gehrig, and Foxx

Obviously dating from the early-to-mid 1930s, this multisigned ball (no manufacturer’s label or stampings visible) features an extraordinary selection of American League stars from the era including Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, and Jimmie Foxx. Twelve Hall of Famer signatures appear on this ball. Every player represented on this ball, with the exception of Earl Whitehill, was a member of either the 1934 or 1935 American League All-Star team. The signatures on the ball are those of Babe Ruth (sweet spot, “5/6”), Lou Gehrig (“5”), Jimmie Foxx, Joe Cronin, Mickey Cochrane (opposite sweet spot), Charlie Gehringer (opposite sweet spot), Al Simmons, Lefty Grove, Heinie Manush, Lefty Gomez, Bill Dickey, Earl Averill, Earl Whitehill, Ben Chapman, Tommy Bridges, Schoolboy Rowe, Mel Harder, Sam West, Jimmie Dykes, and Jack Russell. The signatures range in grade from “3” to “7,” averaging “6.” The ball is lightly soiled and in Very Good to Excellent condition overall. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $800.
