Circa 1937 St. Louis Cardinals Team-Signed Ball

This St. Louis Cardinals team ball appears to have been signed sometime between the years 1936 and 1938, as it includes a number of individuals who played with the club at least one of those seasons. The ball also includes a few players who never made the team’s official roster. The “Amateur League” ball has been signed in blue ink by the following eighteen Cardinal players: Dizzy Dean (1936-37), Johnny Mize (1936-38), Joe Medwick (sweet spot, 1936-38)), Pepper Martin (1936-38), Paul Dean (1936-38), Bob Weiland (1937-38), Howie Krist (1937-38), Art Garibaldi (1936), Frenchy Bordagaray (on ball label, 1937-38), Lon Warneke (1937-38), Guy Bush (1938), Antonio Castino (on ball label, non-roster player), Clem Dreisewerd (non-roster player, later played with the Red Sox in the 1940s), Max Macon (1938), Eddie Nowak (non-roster player), Sam Baugh (non-roster player), Al Sherry (non-roster player), and Melvin Autry (non-roster player).
