Circa 1935 Babe Ruth Single-Signed Baseball

Starting Bid - $1,000.00 , Sold For - $4,700.00

Spalding "Star" baseball signed by Babe Ruth across the sweet spot. Ruth's signature has been scripted in blue fountain pen and grades "7." This particular Spalding ball, "No 6-H," dates from the 1930s, thus offering a fifty-fifty chance that it was signed by Ruth during his playing career (Ruth retired in 1935). Ruth signed a lot of baseballs over the years, and fortunately some of the survivors fall in between near-perfect condition (and valued at a small fortune by the marketplace) and low-grade (still valuable but far less so, and lacking in display value). This is a very desirable, very attractive mid-grade Ruth single-signed ball. The ball is moderately soiled and displays a number of minor abrasions. All of the manufacturer's stampings are bold and legible. Very Good condition. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$3,000. SOLD FOR $4,700.00
