Collection of two American League team-signed balls dating, respectively, from the 1954 and 1963 All-Star Games, both of which were held at Cleveland. 1) 1954 American League Team-Signed Ball. Twenty-seven blue-ink signatures on an official American League (Harridge) ball: Casey Stengel (Mgr., sweet spot), Ted Williams (sweet spot, “4/5”), Mickey Mantle (“4/5”), Yogi Berra, Bob Lemon, Al Rosen, Chico Carrasquel, Virgil Trucks, Sherm Lollar, Bob Swift, Bob Porterfield, Jimmy Piersall, Bobby Avila, Ray Boone, Jim Finigan, Whitey Ford, Bob Turley, Dean Stone (twice), Larry Doby, Fred Hutchinson (coach), Mickey Vernon, Harvey Kuenn, Irv Noren, and three others (faded/illegible). Nine of the signatures are faded and average “4/5.” The remaining eighteen signatures average “8/9.” All of the manufacturer’s stampings are clear and legible. Excellent to Mint condition. 2) 1963 American League Team-Signed Ball. Twenty-four black-ink signatures on an official American League (Cronin) ball: Carl Yastrzemski (sweet spot), Bill Monbouquette (sweet spot), Ken McBride, Nellie Fox, Elston Howard, Brooks Robinson, Jim Bunning, Jim Grant, Steve Barber, Joe Pepitone, Luis Aparicio, Dick Radatz, Leon Wagner, Frank Malzone, Bobby Richardson, Tom Tresh, Ralph Houk (Mgr.), Don Leppert, Johnny Pesky (coach, on ball label), Al Kaline, Norm Siebern, Juan Pizarro, Jim Bouton, and Albie Pearson. Signatures range in grade from “6” to “8,” averaging “7.” All of the manufacturer’s labels are clear and legible. Excellent to Mint condition. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Total: 2 balls. Reserve $200.
