1908 PC760 T. R. Rose Postcard Eddie Plank
Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,763
Very attractive example of Hall of Famer Eddie Plank from the PC760 T. R. Rose Postcard set, one of the rarest and most beautifully designed baseball-card sets ever produced. This extremely rare card is exceptional and noteworthy on many counts, including the fact that the portrait used is the very same as that which appears on the famous T206 Plank. The card is bright and clean, both front and back, with a flawless portrait image, light corner wear, a small surface crease to the right of Plank’s portrait (not easily seen on the front but clearly visible on the back), and a pinhole at the top center (which has been filled). The card has never been mailed and has no writing on its traditional postcard reverse. This is the first Rose postcard of Plank that we can recall offering in over twenty years. This is a very attractive example of one of the key Hall of Famers from this beautiful and rare set. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $1,763
