1971 Topps Football Unopened Vending Box - 1st Series
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $2,938
Original unopened vending box of 1971 Topps Football (1st Series). The box contains approximately 500 cards. The 1971 Topps Football set includes many Hall of Famers such as Bradshaw (rookie card), Unitas, Namath, Butkus, Starr, Sayers, and all the other stars of the day. The cards are in Nr/Mt-Mt condition. While it is impossible to provide guarantees with reference to grading of vending material, there is, of course, the very real possibility that within this box are Mint cards also. This is a particularly significant year for an untouched vending box as cards from 1971 Topps Football are naturally very difficult to find in high grade due to their easily damaged color-border design. This box has been stored by an old-time collector for decades. The box itself has light shelf wear and is in Excellent condition. As a special courtesy to REA, all unopened boxes and cases in this auction have been personally reviewed by world renowned unopened box and case expert Steve Hart of the Baseball Card Exchange. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $2,938
