1911 T205 Gold Border Complete Set (208 Plus 2 Variations): #1 SGC Set Registry

Starting Bid - $10,000, Sold For - $41,125

Presented is an exceptionally attractive complete set of 208 cards (plus two variations for a total of 210 cards), all graded and encapsulated by SGC. The T205 Gold Borders set is universally recognized as one of the most classic of all tobacco-card issues and includes all the great stars of the era and many rarities that make this set one of the most challenging and difficult-to-complete of all tobacco-card sets. This set is rated as the number-one set on the "SGC Set Registry" with an overall grade average of 56.97. This is a gorgeous set, rarely offered in complete-set form in such high grade. As anyone who has seen graded T205s can verify, T205s tend to be graded very harshly, especially when graded by SGC, and almost all of these cards have an appearance far superior to their assigned grades. This complete set has been very carefully assembled by an extremely dedicated collector over a period of many years, and represents a tremendous collecting achievement.

In the following condition composite, cards are identified by the numbers provided in the Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards checklist. SGC Condition Report: Two EX/NM 80: #35 Clarke (HOF) and 75.
