1932 R328 U.S. Caramel #3 Bobby Jones PSA EX 5
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $3,819
Graded EX 5 by PSA. The King of Golf cards! One of only six examples graded at this level by PSA. This classic 1930s rarity declares Jones “The World’s Greatest Golfer” on the reverse, and at the time of issue, no one could take exception with that title. When the United States Caramel Company issued the R328 set in 1932, it consisted almost exclusively of baseball players, but they included a few champions from other sports, including golf legend Bobby Jones. This is a very attractive and, for this card, a very high grade example of this classic and rare Bobby Jones card. Centered slightly to the right (approximately 60/40 L/R), with bold colors, natural light toning, and light, even corner wear. The reverse is lightly toned with a couple tiny pinpoint surface abrasions. This is one of Jones’ most striking and attractive cards, and one of the keys to the U.S. Caramel set. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $3,819
