Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Highest-graded example of 1938 "Horrors of War" bubble-gum card #250, entitled “Chinese Pilot Makes Death Dive in Yangtze," issued by Gum, Inc. The striking and detailed artwork of the horrifying scene on this card displays a shot down fighter plane on fire falling towards a Japanese battleship. The back of the card explains, in part, that "On August 8, 1938 a Japanese war craft pushing up the Yangtze River toward Hankow was met by a squadron of Chinese bombing planes." Extremely high grade example with four razor-sharp corners. Slight tilt to the image. Bright and crisp high-grade 1938 "Horrors of War" card, the highest-graded example. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.
