Graded NM-MT+ 8.5 by PSA. Highest-graded example! Striking high-grade 1938 "Horrors of War" bubble-gum card #267, entitled “Jap Bombers Ignite U.S. Oil Tanks," issued by Gum, Inc. The extremely detailed artwork captures Japanese bombers attacking American oil tanks, with a small boat exploding into pieces in the foreground. The back of the card explains that "On April 12, 1938, in the early afternoon, 50 Japanese bombers flew over the industrial section of Hankow in one of the most daring and destructive attacks yet waged against this city." The card displays vibrant colors, with flawless registration, four sharp corners, and is almost perfectly centered, just a hint to the right. Rare high-number series card (#241-288).
