1910 E93 Standard Caramel Ty Cobb
Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $2,350
Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. One of only eight examples graded at this level. Very attractive example of key Hall of Famer Ty Cobb in a catching pose from the very popular E93 Standard Caramel series. This 30-card set was issued in 1910 by the Standard Caramel Co. of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Bright and crisp, both front and back, with a bold orange background, even wear to the corners (slightly more wear on the lower right), and flawless registration. Centered slightly to the right, with a hint of toning along the right border. The checklist reverse is fairly clean with a tiny surface abrasion in the upper left corner which touches the letter "B" of the word "BASE." In our opinion the PSA grade might be very slightly generous on this one (we grade this card Very Good) but this is a very strong and attractive example of the key card from one of the most popular and colorful of all “E” card issues. SMR value is $3,750. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$3,000. SOLD FOR $2,350
