1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle - PSA EX-MT+ 6.5

Starting Bid - $5,000, Sold For - $29,375

Graded EX-MT+ 6.5 by PSA. Absolutely stunning, extraordinarily crisp, attractive, clean, ultra high-grade example of 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle. This card is a BLAZER! This is a magnificent pack-fresh example with brilliant colors. The deep blue background, which is so prone to wear, is exceptionally strong and virtually perfect (a tiny white speck near the left border is of no consequence and mentioned strictly for the sake of accuracy). The white interlocking "NY" on the front of Mickey's cap contrasts sharply against the dark navy blue of his cap. The corners are extremely strong and razor sharp, each approaching Near Mint to Mint territory. Centered 60/40 left to right and 40/60 top and bottom. If not for the light wear on the extreme bottom edge, this card would easily have received a higher grade from PSA. This is a great 1952 Topps Mantle! Collectors would normally not think it was possible to purchase a 1952 Topps Mantle of this quality without spending many times what this card lists for in this grade. Every card is different. This 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle presents a particularly interesting collecting opportunity. One of card collecting's greatest classics, Mantle's Topps rookie card is the key to the 1952 Topps set, one of the most famous of all cards, and the single most popular and valuable postwar baseball card. This is a spectacularly bright, fresh, clean, example of Mickey Mantle's most celebrated card, in an extremely desirable and well-deserved high grade. The SMR does not provide a value for the EX-MT+ 6.5 grade. The SMR value for a PSA EX-MT 6 is $22,000 and the SMR value for a PSA NM 7 is $35,000. Reserve $5,000. Estimate $10,000/$20,000+. SOLD FOR $29,375
