1909-1911 T206 White Border SGC and GAI Collection (34)

Collection of thirty-four different T206 White Border cards all graded by SGC or GAI. Mostly commons but featuring two Southern Leaguers, including the extremely desirable Shag Shaughnessy (a particularly rare Southern Leaguer and a favorite among collectors), and two Hal Chase cards. All have Piedmont or Sweet Caporal advertisements on back unless otherwise noted. Twenty-six cards were graded by SGC and eight by GAI. The SGC grades are as follows: Three EX+ 70: Bliss, Konetchy - glove near ground, and Shaughnessy - Roanoke (Old Mill). Seven EX 60: Atz, Jones - port., Mattern, McIntyre - Bklyn, Merritt, Pfeister - throwing, and Weimer. Ten VG/EX 50: Bescher - port. (Sovereign), Bradley - bat (Sovereign), Cassidy, Chase - pink, Doolin, Hart - Little Rock, Lake - no ball, Merkle - throwing (Sovereign), Myers - fielding, and Phelan. Five VG 40: Hinchman - Toledo (Sovereign), Jordan - port. (Sovereign), Killian - port., Leifield - pitching, and Wiltse - cap. One GOOD 30: Abstein. The GAI grades are as follows: One EX-MT 6: Devore. Four EX+ 5.5: Bowerman, Bridwell - cap, Clark, and Dygert. Three EX 5: Bergen - catching, Chase - holding trophy, and Pelty - horizontal. This is a very attractive collection of cards in fairly high grade, with eighteen grading EX or better, from the most popular and classic set of the era. Total 34 cards. Reserve $800.
