1909-1911 T206 Ray Demmitt – St. Louis American
Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $4,994
Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. Extremely pleasing example of the rare Demmitt, St. Louis Americans T206 variation. Polar Bear was the only company to issue this T206 variation. The packaged cards issued with Polar Bear tobacco were not well protected from the accompanying product; thus, almost all Demmitt cards have at least some tobacco staining. This example has light staining, and two very tiny surface chips (one on the top border near the left corner and one above Demmitt’s right shoulder) which cause us to grade this card very slightly lower at Vg. Bright and crisp, with no creases, and extremely fresh colors. This is a very attractive medium-grade example of one of the rarest cards in the classic T206 White Border set. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000+. SOLD FOR $4,994
