1909-1911 T206 Roger Bresnahan - Portrait SGC MINT 96
Starting Bid - $2,000, Sold For - $8,813
Graded MINT 96 by SGC. Absolutely astonishing, stunning ultra high-grade example of key Hall of Famer Roger Bresnahan in a portrait pose from the T206 White Borders series, the most popular set of the era. Graded MINT 96 by SGC, the offered card, not surprisingly, displays perfect centering, with four razor-sharp corners, snow-white borders, flawless colors, perfect clarity and registration, and a flawlessly crisp, clean front and back. The ever-so-slight natural diamond cut is of no consequence and is mentioned strictly for the sale of accuracy. The Piedmont reverse is centered to the right. This is the only MINT 96 T206 Bresnahan that SGC has graded, and one of only sixteen MINT 96 T206s of any player that SGC has ever graded (out of a total of over 51,000 T206s graded by SGC to date). This is a simply astounding Mint card of a significant Hall of Famer, which would enhance or upgrade any high-grade set or collection. Disclosure Notice: This card has been consigned to this auction from the personal collection of SGC principle David Forman. Mr. Forman purchased this card in the open market at public auction, already graded, just as is the case with all four SGC-graded cards Mr. Forman is selling from his personal collection in this auction. This disclosure is being made at his insistence (and with our blessing) to avoid even the potential appearance of impropriety. In addition to SGC's lifetime written guarantees, which apply to all SGC-graded cards, REA will allow the winner of any or all of the cards from Mr. Forman's personal collection a six-month full-return privilege for any reason if desired. Reserve $2,000. Estimate $4,000/$6,000+. SOLD FOR $8,813
