1910 E104-2 Nadja Caramels - Honus Wagner
Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $7,638
Graded VG/EX 50 by SGC. A very attractive example of key Hall of Famer Honus Wagner from the extremely rare E104-2 Nadja Caramels series features a classic portrait image. E104-2 Nadja Caramels are among the rarest of all twentieth-century caramel issues. Produced to commemorate the Pirates’ 1909 Championship season, the 11-card set features exclusively Pittsburgh Pirates. The card is bright and clean, with a deep blue background and crisp perfect image. The card has no creases, even corner wear, a few print lines, and a slight "diamond" cut. The blank back is also clean. The E104-2 Nadja Caramels set is very closely related to the E90-2 American Caramel Pirates set. The front of Wagner is identical in both sets, but has a blank back in the E104-2 Nadja set. This is an extremely striking card and a very attractive example of one of the rarest of all Honus Wagner cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$3,000. SOLD FOR $7,638
