1912 T202 Hassan Triple Folders PSA-Graded Collection (14)

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $2,115

A very attractive collection of fourteen cards from this classic tobacco issue, highlighted by seven Hall of Famers, including Ty Cobb. The cards have all been graded and encapsulated by PSA. In the following condition composite, cards are identified by the numbers provided by the Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards checklist. PSA Condition Report (14 cards): #1 LaPorte/Wallace (HOF, GOOD 2), 15 Bresnahan/Harmon (HOF, VG-EX 4), 16 Chance/Foxen (HOF, VG-EX 4), 20 Chance/Shean (HOF, VG-EX 4), 34 Payne/Walsh (HOF, VG-EX 4), 35 Payne/White (VG 3), 38 Byrne/Clarke (HOF, VG-EX 4), 39 Baker/Collins (HOF, VG-EX 4), 41 Stanage/Murphy (VG 3), 70 McConnell/McIntyre (VG-EX 4), 74 Gray/Groom (VG-EX 4), 97 Stanage/Willett (VG-EX 4), 98 Bates/Bescher (VG-EX 4), and 130 Cobb/Moriarity (HOF, VG-EX 4). These cards have been graded harshly, as is the standard for T202s. This is a very bright, clean, attractive group of cards, appropriately downgraded to account for the technical flaws which are so common to the issue, and with many cards having an appearance far superior to their technically accurate assigned grades. This is a very attractive mid-grade collection, including many highlights, of arguably the most interesting and beautiful baseball tobacco issue ever produced. SMR value for the assigned grades is $2,900. Total 14 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000+. SOLD FOR $2,115
