1934-1941 PSA-Graded Hall of Famer Gum-Card Collection (5)
Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $2,938
Collection of five high-grade key cards from three different 1934-1941 bubble-gum card sets, including four Hall of Famers and one major star. Each card has been graded and encapsulated by PSA: 1-2) 1934 Goudey: #2 Mickey Cochrane (NM 7, bright and crisp, perfectly clean both front and back, square corners, beautifully centered, particularly sharp looking example of this condition rarity) and #35 Ernie Lombardi (NM-MT 8, pack-fresh example with razor sharp corners, snow-white borders, and brilliant colors). 3) 1938 Goudey: #286 Ducky Medwick (NM 7, well-centered example with a very slight diamond cut, light wear to the square corners). 4-5) 1941 Play Ball: #19 Charley Gehringer (NM-MT 8, bright and clean, with vibrant colors, sharp corners, and centered slightly to the bottom) and #63 Dom DiMaggio (NM-MT 8, four sharp corners, centered towards the top left). This is a very attractive group of four Hall of Famers and one major star from three classic prewar issues, assembled one card at a time as a representative selection of key cards by a very dedicated and condition-conscious longtime collector. SMR value is $4,850. Total 5 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$4,000+. SOLD FOR $2,938
