Graded EX 5 by PSA. Excellent example of this very popular rookie card featuring the "Splendid Splinter" in his familiar swinging pose. Gum, Inc., was right on the money when they stated on the reverse of the card that "Ted Williams, one of the youngest players in baseball, has a great future according to experts." Crisp and clean, with flawless image quality, four square corners, snow-white borders, and a perfect reverse. Centered to the left border approximately 35/65. One of the two big cards from the 1939 Play Ball issue. This is a classic rookie card from this extremely popular 1930s issue. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$800. SOLD FOR $1,175
