1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle - SGC EX+ 70
Starting Bid - $5,000, Sold For - $17,625
Graded EX+ 70 by SGC. Extremely attractive, crisp, clean, high-grade example of 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle. One of card collecting's greatest classics, Mantle's Topps rookie card is the key to the 1952 Topps set, one of the most famous of all cards, and the single most popular and valuable postwar baseball card. This is an outstanding card, and with virtually perfect centering, which is a quality that is particularly rare to find in a 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle. The corners are extremely strong and square, each with only the slightest touch of wear. The blue background has just the lightest hint of surface wear. No creases. Centered 45/55 left to right and approximately 50/50 top and bottom. In our opinion this is a very conservativativle graded card and could have been graded EX-MT. This is an incredible high-grade example of one of collecting's most famous cards, and would be a worthy cornerstone to a high-grade 1952 Topps set, a high-grade 1950s Mantle card collection, or any world-class collection of classic baseball cards. Reserve $5,000. Estimate $10,000++. SOLD FOR $17,625
