1953 Bowman Color Complete Set (160)

Starting Bid - $800, Sold For - $2,115

20% Ex or better, 60% Vg-Ex, and 20% Vg (with a few slightly lesser). Very attractive medium-grade complete set of 1953 Bowman Color. The set has been very carefully assembled and is virtually crease-free, with even the lowest-graded cards being very attractive examples downgraded due to honest corner wear. We have selected three cards from this set to be graded and encapsulated by SGC. Keys: #1 Williams (Vg), 9 Rizzuto (Vg), 10 Ashburn (Vg), 18 Fox (Vg), 32 Musial (Vg), 33 Reese (Gd-Vg), 44 Bauer/Berra/Mantle (EX 60), 46 Campanella (Vg), 59 Mantle (VG 40), 65 Roberts (Vg), 80 Kiner (Vg), 81 Slaughter (diamond cut, otherwise Ex), 92 Hodges (Gd-Vg), 93 Rizzuto/Martin (Ex), 97 Mathews (no bottom border, otherwise Vg), 99 Spahn (Vg), 101 Schoendienst (Ex), 114 Feller (Vg), 117 Snider (Vg), 118 Martin (Vg-Ex), 121 Berra (Vg), 143 Lopez (Ex), 146 Wynn (Vg), 153 Ford (VG/EX 50), and 160 Abrams (Vg). This is a very attractive complete set of this classic 1950s gum-card issue in a grade representing an outstanding value compared to a higher-graded set, but without sacrificing exceptional visual appeal. Total 160 cards. Reserve $800. Estimate $1,500/$2,500+. SOLD FOR $2,115
