Gigantic assortment of 1,335 regional and unusual cards, spanning the years 1947 through 1964, highlighted by many Hall of Famers and stars, and representing thirty different issues. This is a tremendous group of unusual vintage cards, mostly comprised of overlooked and undervalued "oddball" issues, with many highlights, assembled by an old-time collector. The collection is comprised of the following: 1) 1939-1946 Salutation Exhibits (17 plus 8 duplicates, 25 cards): Twenty-one cards range from Gd to Vg-Ex (averaging Vg), four cards grading lesser including DiMaggio and Williams. 2) 1947 Bond Bread (18 cards): Sixteen cards grade Vg-Ex to Ex, two slightly lesser. Keys: Berra (Vg), Kiner (Vg), Reese (Vg-Ex/Ex). 3) 1947-1966 Exhibits (250 assorted cards plus unopened pack): 30% Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt, 70% range from Vg to Ex (averaging Vg-Ex). Loaded with many Hall of Famers (most more than once) including Mantle, Mays, Campanella, Robinson, Reese, etc. Also included is an unopened cello pack of five cards (tear on the right edge, otherwise Nr/Mt). 4) 1948 Baseball's Great HOF Exhibits (16 cards): Vg-Ex overall. Consists of Alexander, Bresnahan, Chance, Cochrane, Evers, Griffith, Grove, Hornsby, Jennings, Keeler, Lajoie, Mathewson, Speaker, Tinker, Walsh, and Young. 5) 1948-1949 Leaf (32 different plus 21 duplicates, 53 cards): 60% range from Vg to Ex-Mt (averaging Vg-Ex/Ex), 40% lesser grades (mostly Gd). All grade Vg overall. 7) 1948 Swell Sport Thrills Near-Complete Set (16 of 20 plus 6 duplicates, 22 cards): Missing four cards (#2, 6, 11, 18) for completion. Grades Vg overall. 8) 1948 Topps Magic Photos (2 cards): #13 Cobb (paper loss in the lower left corner, otherwise Ex) and 16 Young (paper residue on back, otherwise Ex). 9) 1950 Callahan Hall of Fame Complete Boxed Set (65 cards): Grades Nr/Mt-Mt (a couple cards are slightly lesser). 10) 1951 Berk Ross (39 of 72 plus 23 duplicates, 62 cards): 65% Vg-Ex to Ex, 35% Vg (includes a few slightly lesser). Collins, Mack, two Mathewson, and Speaker. Each card technically grades Pr due to missing the red die-cut background pieces. 14) 1951 Topps Major League All-Stars (4 cards): Berra, Dropo, Kell, and Lemon. Grades Vg overall. 19) 1954 Johnston Cookies Braves Complete Set (35 plus 7 duplicates, 42 cards): Twenty cards range from Vg-Ex to Ex-Mt (averaging Ex), ten cards are Vg, and twelve slightly lesser (including two trimmed).
