1960 Topps Complete Set (572)
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $2,115
22% Ex-Mt (includes a few Nr/Mt), 60% range from Vg-Ex to Ex, 18% Vg (includes a few slightly lesser). The rookie cards of Hall of Famers Carl Yastrzemski and Willie McCovey highlight the 1960 Topps issue, which was Topps’ last horizontal issue. Many of the biggest stars in the set, including Mantle, Mays, and Aaron, appear in the set more than once due to the All-Star card series. Mantle actually has three cards in this set, as he also appears on the #160 "Rival All-Stars" card with Ken Boyer. We have selected three cards from the set to be graded and encapsulated by SGC. Keys: #1 Wynn (80/20 L/R, otherwise Ex), 10 Banks (trimmed), 18 Dodgers Team (Ex), 28 B. Robinson (Ex), 35 Ford (Ex), 50 Kaline (75/25 L/R, otherwise Ex), 148 Yastrzemski RC (Vg-Ex/Ex), 160 Mantle/Boyer (Gd-Vg), 200 Mays (30/70 L/R, otherwise Ex), 210 Killebrew (Nr/Mt), 250 Musial (Vg/Vg-Ex), 300 Aaron (SGC EX+ 70), 316 McCovey RC (Ex), 326 Clemente (30/70 L/R, otherwise Ex), 332 Yankees Team (Ex-Mt), 343 Koufax (SGC NM 84), 350 Mantle (SGC EX 60), 377 Maris (Vg-Ex), 420 Mathews (Vg), 445 Spahn (Ex), 475 Drysdale (70/30 T/B, otherwise Vg-Ex), 480 Berra (Ex), 490 Robinson (20/80 T/B, otherwise Ex-Mt), 493 Snider (Ex), 554 McCovey (Ex), 558 Mathews (Ex), 560 Banks (Vg-Ex), 561 Kaline AS (trimmed), 563 Mantle AS (diamond cut, otherwise Ex), 564 Mays AS (Vg-Ex/Ex), 565 Maris AS (Ex), 566 Aaron AS (Nr/Mt). Complete 1960 Topps sets show up with far less frequency than many other sets from the era. This is a strong mid-grade set, very crisp, clean, and attractive across the board, and in addition to all the special cards and scarce high-numbers (#507-572), it is loaded with Hall of Famers and stars from the 1960s. Total 572 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $2,115
