Five 1975 Topps Factory-Vending Complete Sets (3,300 cards)
Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $14,100
Collection of five complete factory-vending sets comprised of 1975 Topps baseball (660 cards per set). All 3,330 Topps cards comprising these sets were assembled directly from vending cases. Our consignor, a longtime hobbyist (who as a professional photographer was responsible for hundreds of photos that appeared on baseball cards in the 1970s and 1980s) purchased these cards in their year of issue and has had them safely stored away for over thirty years! The boxes the sets come in are taped shut and have never been opened. The rookie cards of Hall of Famers George Brett, Robin Yount, and Gary Carter highlight the 1975 Topps issue, one of the most popular and unusual sets of the 1970s. All the other stars of the day are also included. The colored flush-to-the-border design of the 1975 Topps set makes this issue particularly challenging to collect in extremely high grade. Five extraordinarily high-grade unopened vending sets looking exactly as they did when they were put together and stored in the closet in 1975. Total 3,300 cards (five complete sets). Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$3,000. SOLD FOR $14,100
