Seven 1975 Topps Mini Wax Cases (112 Boxes)
Starting Bid - $10,000, Sold For - $82,250
Group of seven original wax cases of 1975 Topps Mini baseball. Each wax case houses sixteen boxes with thirty-six packs per box for a total of 576 packs. With each pack containing ten cards, a single case represents a total of 5,760 cards. Therefore, these seven complete wax cases contain a total of 40,320 cards. The 1975 Topps Mini set includes the rookie cards of Hall of Famers George Brett, Robin Yount, and Gary Carter, and many other stars, including Schmidt, Aaron, Ryan, and Jackson. The 1975 Mini cards are 20% smaller than the standard Topps cards and were test marketed only in Michigan and certain areas of the West Coast. Aside from their smaller size, they are otherwise identical to the standard 1975 Topps cards. The colored flush-to-the-border design of the 1975 Topps Mini set makes this issue particularly challenging to collect in extremely high grade. While we cannot state with certainty, it seems highly probable that within these seven cases are numerous cards, both stars and commons, that would be ideal candidates for professional grading. The outer boxes, all of which display normal shipping wear, have been opened but the sixteen wax boxes in each case remain in their original unopened state. Also included with the cases are sixty extra packs, all featuring stars seen through the wax wrapper on top or bottom, including Brett and Yount rookies. As a special courtesy to REA, all unopened boxes and cases in this auction have been personally reviewed by world renowned unopened box and case expert Steve Hart of the Baseball Card Exchange. From the Charlie Conlon Collection. Please Note: Due to the size and/or weight of this lot, shipping costs (depending on where it is sent and its method of shipping) may be substantial. Reserve $10,000. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $82,250
