Babe Ruth Single-Signed Baseball
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $3,819
Official National League (Frick) ball signed in blue ink across the sweet spot by Babe Ruth. This ball dates from the 1946-1951 manufacturing period. Since Ruth passed away on August 16, 1948, we can conclusively narrow its time of signing to the brief period of 1946 through 1948. Ruth was quite ill during those final two years, but until his final months he was able to sign beautifully, and the signature on this ball display no hint of his failing health. All of the strokes are well executed and the signature grades "6" overall. The ball is moderately toned and displays a number of minor surface abrasions. In Very Good condition overall. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $3,819
