Hall of Fame Government Postcard and Cut-Signature Collection - Brown, Young, Alexander, Bender, and Grove (5)

This significant Hall of Fame autograph collection is comprised of particularly outstanding government postcard or large cut-signature examples from five of the greatest pitchers in baseball history: Cy Young, Mordecai Brown, Grover Alexander, Chief Bender, and Lefty Grove. 1) Cy Young. In black fountain pen (grading "10") on a 3 x 6-inch. A small magazine photo of Young is affixed to the sheet above his signature. Tape remnants and surface paper loss on the reverse. Ex. 2) Mordecai Brown. In black fountain pen ("10") on an irregularly cut 3.75 x 1.75-inch sheet. The notation "A Cub" (presumably written by Brown) appears below his name. Ex. 3) Grover Alexander. Inscribed in blue fountain pen ("9/10") "To Paul - Grover C. Alexander" on a 5.5 x 3-inch sheet. Roughly cut/torn along the top and bottom borders, with tape remnants on the reverse. Vg. 4) Chief Bender. In black ink ("10") on a 5.5 x 3.25-inch government postcard (postmarked 2/5/52). Ex. 5) Lefty Grove. In blue ink ("10") on a 5.5 x 3.25-inch government postcard (postmark has faded beyond legibility). With a tack hole along the top border (not affecting the signature) and light surface wear. Vg.
