Tris Speaker Signed Black-and-White Hall of Fame Postcard

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $2,115

Black-and-white (Artvue) Hall of Fame postcard of Tris Speaker, signed in blue ink (grading “10”) along the top border. Black-and-white Hall of Fame postcards were only issued between the years 1944 and 1963. Speaker was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1937 and passed away in 1958. Despite the fourteen-year "window of opportunity" to obtain Speaker's signature on a black-and-white Hall of Fame postcard, examples are extremely rare and are usually only found in advanced collections today. The postcard (3.5 x 5.5 inches) has a very light surface crease in the upper right corner (barely noticeable), as well as minor corner wear (a little more so in the lower right). This is a very sharp-looking and ideally signed Tris Speaker Hall of Fame plaque example. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.
