1909 and 1910 D380 Clement Bros. Bread SGC-Graded Collection (5)

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $2,644

Collection of five different D380 Clement Bros. Bread cards, consisting of one Major Leaguer (Mullin, Detroit) and four Rochester (Eastern League) players. The Mullin is of special note as when issuing the cards of Major Leaguers, Clement Brothers borrowed images from the E90-1 set, and the image on this card is a black-and-white version of Mullin's E90-1 American Caramel Company card. Each card has been graded and encapsulated by SGC: 1909 D380-1 (1 card): Holly (FAIR 20). 1910 D380 (4 cards): Alperman (POOR 10), Lagoe (GOOD 30), Mullin, Detroit (Major Leaguer, POOR 10), and Ragan (POOR 10). The reverse of the cards have the Clement Bros. bakery's bread and pies advertisement in bold black printing. The D380 Clement Bros. Bread set is one of the rarest of all prewar issues and also one of the rarest of all 1910-era bakery-card issues. This is a very attractive group, with most cards having an appearance superior to their technically accurate assigned grades. Total 5 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$3,000. SOLD FOR $2,644
