1911 E100 Bishop & Co. PCL Type I SGC-Graded Collection (19)

Starting Bid - $2,500, Sold For - $14,100

Extremely rare (and for this issue in very high-grade) collection of nineteen different (out of 30 in the set) 1911 E100 Bishop & Co. Type I cards, each graded and encapsulated by SGC (all submitted by REA). The thirty-card 1911 E100 Bishop & Co. Type 1 set is one of the rarest of all Pacific Coast League issues and one of the rarest of all 1910-era candy-card issues. They are also one of the most interesting and distinctively designed of all caramel-card issues. The SGC grades are as follows: One EX/NM 80: Carlisle (Vernon). One EX+ 70: Delhi (Los Angeles). Four EX 60: McCreedie (Portland), Pearce (Oakland), Thomas (Sacramento), and Tozer (Los Angeles). Five VG/EX 50: Hogan (Vernon), Nelson (Oakland), Patterson (Vernon), Rapps (Portland), and Seaton (Portland). Five VG 40: Daley (Los Angeles), Danzig (Sacramento), O'Rourke (Sacramento), Peckinpaugh (Portland), and Pfyl (Oakland). Two GOOD 30: Baum (Sacramento) and Tennant (San Francisco). One FAIR 20: Hitt (Vernon). Even a sample card from the E100 Bishop set can be very difficult to find. As can easily be seen, this is an extraordinary group with all cards bright, clean, extremely attractive, and very conservatively graded. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a partial set of nineteen different high-grade cards from one of the rarest of all 1910-era candy issues. Total 19 cards. Reserve $2,500. Estimate $5,000+.
