1909-1911 T206 Cy Young - Portrait - PSA EX 5

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $3,819

Graded EX 5 by PSA. Stunning T206 portrait of Cy Young set against a dark green background. This is one of Cy Young's most striking cards and one of the most popular cards in the entire T206 set. This is a extremely attractive example, especially for the grade. The colors are bright and Young’s image is perfectly focused. The deep, rich green background gives this card particularly strong eye-appeal. The centering is just a hint to the right and all four corners are square with a touch of wear. We have little doubt that if it had just slightly less wear to the lower left corner that this card would have been graded EX-MT by PSA. The reverse has bold red print against an off-white background. This is a very attractive high-grade example of one of Cy Young’s most striking cards from the premier tobacco-card set of the era. The SMR value for the assigned is $1,650. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $3,819
