1909-1911 T206 Ray Demmitt - St. Louis American Variation

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $4,406

Graded VG 40 by SGC. Extremely pleasing example of the rare Demmitt, St. Louis Americans T206 variation. Polar Bear was the only company to issue this T206 variation. The packaged cards issued with Polar Bear tobacco were not well protected from the accompanying product, thus almost all Demmitts have at least some tobacco staining. This example has absolutely no stains and a single crease (diagonal) near the bottom right corner. Bright and crisp, well centered, with just a little corner wear. This is a very attractive medium-grade example of one of the rarest cards in the classic T206 White Border set. From the Charlie Conlon Collection. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000+.
