1912 T202 Hassan Triple Folder PSA NM 7 Collection (5)
Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $2,350
Collection of five 1912 T202 Hassan Triple Folders in extraordinarily high grade, including "Black Sox" member Ed Cicotte. This is an outstanding ultra high-grade group! Each card has been graded NM 7 by PSA. In the following condition composite, identifying card numbers are referenced from the numbers provided by the Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards checklist. Consists of the following: #6 Blair/Quinn, 24 Egan/Mitchell, 69 Grant/Hoblitzell, 76 Cicotte/Stahl ("Black Sox"), and 92 Kling/Steinfeldt. As confirmed by PSA and SGC Population reports, T202s rarely survive in such high grade. If normal wear and tear is not enough to worry about on cards dating from 1912, because of their unusual design, there is literally a laundry list of additional potential problems for T202s that almost always cause these cards to be graded harshly: centering, miscuts, print specs, "spider" creases, poor registration, a vertical "shadow" line center crease, etc. Each of these T202s has a NM-MT appearance. All are perfectly crisp, extremely clean both front and back, with flawless color, sharp corners, and no creases. These cards have been pulled from a much larger group based solely on condition. This small group of five cards would make a significant contribution to any high-grade T202 Triple Folders set or collection. The SMR value for these five cards in the assigned grades is $3,500. Total 5 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$3,000+. SOLD FOR $2,350
