1912 E300 Plow's Candy Eddie Collins - PSA NM 7

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $6,463

Graded NM 7 by PSA. Only "1 of 1" graded by PSA with no other examples at any level graded by PSA. Ultra high-grade example of Hall of Famer Eddie Collins from the extremely elusive 1912 Plow’s Candy issue. This unusual sepia-toned, large-format (3 x 4 inches) candy issue was not even known to exist until the 1960s, and is among the rarest candy cards of the era. This is one of the most striking and impressive of all Eddie Collins cards. The card displays four sharp corners showing just the slightest hint of wear under magnification, flawless image clarity, and a perfectly clean blank back. The image has a slight natural tilt; if not for the tilt the card would have perfect centering (just a hint off left to right, approximately 45/55). Graded NM 7 by PSA, with an even stronger Near Mint to Mint appearance, this is a spectacular example of one of the rarest of all Eddie Collins cards, from one of the rarest of all candy-card issues. Extraordinary as a sample card and a card that would be a significant addition to any world-class Hall of Fame or prewar-card collection. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,500+.
