1929 R316 Kashin Publications Babe Ruth - PSA NM 7

Starting Bid - $400, Sold For - $2,644

Graded NM 7 by PSA. One of only five examples graded at this level with just two graded higher. This is a very attractive, high-grade large card (3.5 x 4.5 inches) featuring Ruth in a classic batting pose. Ruth, of course, is the key card to the distinctively designed 101-card R316 set. Perfectly clean, both front and back, with four sharp corners, flawless picture quality, and centered slightly to the left. Few cards of Ruth date from the 1920s. Issued during the short window of time between the strip cards of the early 1920s and the colorful bubble-gum cards of the early 1930s, this card has always been appreciated for its powerful image of Ruth. Reserve $400. Estimate $800/$1,200. SOLD FOR $2,644
