1953 Topps Hall of Fame Collection Including Two Paiges and Four Campanellas
Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,880
Collection of twenty key Hall of Famers from the popular 1953 Topps set, highlighted by Jackie Robinson, two Satchel Paiges, and four Roy Campanellas. The 1953 Topps set is one of card collecting's most popular, as well as condition-sensitive, issues. This is a very attractive group of Hall of Famers, saved as a selection of personal favorites by an old-time collector (and literally stored away in a box in the closet since the 1970s). Six cards have been submitted by REA to be graded and encapsulated by PSA. The collection is comprised of the following: #1 Jackie Robinson (VG-EX 4), four 27 Campanella (NM 7, Ex-Mt, Vg-Ex, Vg), three 37 Mathews (NM 7, two Ex-Mt), two 54 Feller (EX 5 and Ex), 62 Irvin (Vg-Ex), 76 Reese (Vg), 77 Mize (EX+ 5.5), 78 Schoendienst (Ex), three 151 Wilhelm (Nr/Mt, Ex-Mt, Ex), 207 Ford (Vg-Ex), and two 220 Paige (VG-EX 4 and Vg). This is a very attractive collection of mid- to high-grade 1953 Topps cards comprised exclusively of Hall of Famers in the set. Total 20 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $1,880
