10% Nr/Mt (with a few NM-MT), 80% range from Ex to Ex-Mt, and 10% Vg-Ex (includes a few lesser). Total of 208 cards representing complete sets of all four years of Red Man Tobacco. This is a remarkably crisp, clean Red Man Tobacco complete set run. These are beautiful sets! All the cards are with tabs (except one common). We have selected eight cards to be graded and encapsulated by PSA. 1) 1952 Complete Set of 52: Keys: #1A Stengel (Ex-Mt), 1N Durocher (Ex-Mt), 2N Ashburn (Ex), 3A Berra (Ex), 8A Feller (Ex), 9N Irvin (Vg-Ex/Ex), 10N Jansen (PSA NM+ 7.5), 12N Kiner (Ex), 15N Mays (Vg), 16N Musial (PSA EX 5), 17N Reese (PSA EX 5), 18N Roberts (Ex-Mt), 19N Schoendienst (Ex), 20N Slaughter (Ex-Mt), 21N Snider (PSA NM-MT 8), 22N Spahn (Ex), 23A Williams (PSA EX-MT 6), 24A Wynn (Ex). 2) 1953 Complete Set of 52: Keys: #1A Stengel (Vg-Ex), 3A Berra (PSA EX-MT 6), 5N Campanella (Vg-Ex), 10A Rizzuto (Ex), 10N Reese (Vg-Ex/Ex), 14N Snider (Ex), 19N Spahn (Ex), 26N Musial (Vg-Ex). 3) 1954 Complete Set of 50 with four variations for a total of 54: Keys: #4A Kell (Boston, Ex), 4A Kell (Chicago, Vg-Ex/Ex), 6A Mele (Chicago, Vg-Ex), 9A Philley (Philadelphia, Vg), 13N Campanella (Vg-Ex/Ex), 15N Reese (Nr/Mt appearance, rejected by PSA for minimum size requirement), 16A Ford (Vg-Ex), 16N Snider (Ex), 17A Rizzuto (Ex-Mt), 19N Slaughter (Vg), 20A Berra (Vg-Ex/Ex), 25N Mays (Vg). Card #6A Mele (Baltimore team variation) is missing the tab. 4) 1955 Complete Set of 50: Keys: #3A Ford (Ex-Mt), 7N Mays (PSA VG-EX+ 4.5), 16A Berra (Vg), 17N Reese (Vg), 19N Snider (PSA NM-MT 8). Red Man Tobacco cards are far rarer than most 1950s baseball cards. Because of their tabs (which were designed to be cut) and method of issue, they often have condition problems. Many consider them to represent one of the best values of all cards from the era. This is very attractive complete set run of these unusual cards. The cards are bright and crisp, and display far better than their technically accurate assigned grades. The SMR value for just seven of the eight PSA-graded cards (not including the one VG-EX+ 4.5 of Mays and the 200 ungraded cards) is $3,460. Total 208 cards. Reserve $2,000. Estimate $4,000+. SOLD FOR $9,988
