1954 Wilson Franks PSA-Graded Partial Set (9 of 20)
Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $2,938
Outstanding mid- to high-grade collection of nine different cards (out of the twenty cards in the set) from the 1954 Wilson Franks set, one of the most desirable of all 1950s food issues. The collection is highlighted by Hall of Famers Roy Campanella, Bob Feller, Red Schoendienst, and Enos Slaughter. The nine cards represent 45% of the set of this popular regional issue. All nine cards have been graded and encapsulated by PSA: Campanella (HOF, NM-MT 8 [OC]), Ennis (VG 3), Feller (HOF, VG-EX 4), Groth (VG-EX 4), Hack (VG-EX 4), Sauer (EX-MT 6), Schoendienst (HOF, VG-EX+ 4.5), Slaughter (HOF, EX-MT 6), White (NM 7 [OC]). Almost all of the few lower-graded cards have a far superior appearance than suggested by their technically accurate assigned grades. This is a very attractive collection and a rare opportunity to acquire a significant foundation for the assembly of a high-quality complete set of this extremely popular 1950s food issue. Total 9 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000+. SOLD FOR $2,938
