1972 O-Pee-Chee Baseball Card Assortment (2,200 cards)

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $3,231

Crisp, literally pack-fresh hoard of approximately 2,200 assorted 1972 O-Pee-Chee baseball cards. O-Pee-Chee baseball cards were issued regionally only in Canada and are much rarer than their American counterparts. This enormous group of high-grade examples could provide the foundation for a number of high-grade sets and at the same time provide quality inventory to fill want lists. A high percentage of these cards are well centered, with the sharp look which pack-fresh quality cards from this era display. These were consigned with the complete set that is offered as a separate lot, and it is obvious that all of these cards were long ago carefully pulled and sorted directly from packs or an unopened case. Of the 2,200 cards in the collection, 192 (9%) have been professionally graded and encapsulated by SGC, including the many key cards (Mays, Clemente, and Fisk). The SGC grades are as follows (quantities in parentheses): Eleven MINT 96: #18, 68 (2), 70, 78, 83, 87, 106, 302, 365, and 411.
