1975 Topps Baseball Factory-Sealed Six-Box Rack Case
Starting Bid - $5,000, Sold For - $26,438
Complete original unopened six-box rack case of 1975 Topps baseball. This incredibly rare unopened case is the only 1975 Topps baseball rack case we have ever offered or seen. (Even the legendary 1975 Topps unopened collector Charlie Conlon did not have one of these.) The case houses six boxes with twenty-four packs per box for a total of 144 packs. With each pack containing forty-two cards, the case represents a total of 6,048 cards. The 1975 Topps baseball set includes rookie cards of George Brett, Robin Yount, Gary Carter, and Jim Rice. The colored flush-to-the-border design of the 1975 Topps set makes this issue particularly challenging to collect in extremely high grade. While we cannot state with certainty, it seems highly probable that within this case are numerous cards, both stars and commons, that would be ideal candidates for professional grading. Original factory seals intact with typical outer-box wear. This is an extremely rare case with an extraordinary break value. The 2009 Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards book value for a 1975 Topps rack pack is $175, thus the book value for 144 rack packs in the six boxes as found here in this unopened six-box rack case is $25,200. Reserve $5,000. Estimate (open).
