Frankie Frisch Single-Signed Ball

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,058

Official American League (Cronin) ball signed by Hall of Fame second baseman Frankie Frisch. The old "Fordham Flash" has scripted his name in blue ink on the sweet spot, with the signature grading "7." This ball is new to the hobby, as it has been in our consignor's family for over forty years! Frisch was a friend of our consignor's father and because of that personal relationship the family always took great care of the ball. Not only did they retain its original box, but they were always mindful to keep it out of the light. Except for an occasional viewing now and then, this ball has resided almost exclusively in a locked drawer these past many decades. Those precautions are obviously responsible for the ball's outstanding Near Mint condition today. Except for some very modest surface wear, this ball looks exactly as it did when it was first removed from its box. The ball retains its original white hue and all of the manufacturer's stampings are exceptionally bold. Together with the original Reach box (box is Vg-Ex; missing a flap). LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $1,058
