1959 Los Angeles Dodgers World Champions Team-Signed Ball
Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $588
Spalding "Official 158 League" ball signed in blue ink by the following twenty-seven members of the 1959 World Champion Los Angeles Dodgers: Alston (Mgr., sweet spot), Reese (coach), Snider, Koufax, Drysdale, Hodges, Dressen (clubhouse signature, coach, sweet spot), Furillo, Labine, Gray, Moon, Lillis, Drake, Zimmer, Pignatano, Williams, Mulleavy (coach), Repulski, Demeter, Larker, Erskine, McDevitt (clubhouse signature), Roseboro (clubhouse signature), Neal (clubhouse signature), Gilliam, Fairly, and Podres. Signatures range from "5" to "8," averaging "6/7." 1959 marked the Dodgers fifth pennant of the decade. However, even more important, it also marked the club's first World Championship in Los Angeles, thereby making this one of the most significant and desirable of all Dodgers team-signed balls. Dodgers team-signed balls are rare and much scarcer than other World Championship team-signed balls from this era. The ball displays light-to-moderate uneven toning and is otherwise in Excellent condition overall. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $588
